Everton defender, Ashley Young has hit out at Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho following Manchester United’s Premier League 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Young, a former Man United player, claimed that the duo played with ‘no confidence’ against Tottenham at Old Trafford.
Rashford and Garnacho were unable to help Erik ten Hag’s side as three goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke gave Spurs the victory.
Speaking with Sky Sports after the game, Young was not impressed with Rashford and Garnacho.
He said: “I think it just showed today, where you’ve got the two wingers [Rashford and Garnacho] going one-v-one and instead of going to attack the space in behind, they’d rather go back and play the safe pass.
“That is when you know you’ve got a winger with no confidence.
“As a winger previously as well, when you are here, when you see a one-v-one, that is when your eyes light up, that is your time to shine.
“When players are not doing that, turning it down and wanting to go backwards, it is not the way to be doing it.”
