EPL: Arteta gives real reason for buying dog for Arsenal, naming her ‘Win’

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has explained why he bought a new dog for the club’s training ground.

He also gave a reason for the choice of name for the dog, claiming the reaction from the players has been ‘incredible’.

Arteta brought in the chocolate Labrador as a new permanent addition to the club’s London Colney training ground and named it ‘Win’.

Arteta said he believes the dog’s presence has enhanced the family atmosphere among his players and staff.

He said the dog has been named ‘Win’ because ‘we all love winning’.

Arteta added, “We always talk about family, and being connected. A big family like we are at the club, and I feel like we are a family, we need a dog to represent that family.

“I carefully chose the dog and in my opinion, it’s the perfect representative of who we are right now.

“Her name is Win, we all love winning and Win needs a lot of love. So the love for Win, that was basically the feeling.

“The reaction from the players and the staff has been incredible,”
