Enugu schools resume January 10, govt orders mask-wearing

Enugu State Government says all schools will resume for the new academic session on January 10.

Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uchenna Eze, made the confirmation to newsmen on Wednesday.

The official announced that the state was operating a uniform timetable for public and private schools.

All have been directed to comply with existing COVID-19 safety protocols.

“Pupils must come to school wearing their face masks”, Eze ordered.

”Supervisors will move from school to school to ensure all COVID-19 prevention protocols are observed.”

Eze urged schools to get temperature thermometers ready, make provision for running water and soap or alcohol-based hand sanitisers.

They must also ensure good spacing of the pupils, functional sickbay, first aid box and isolation of anyone suspected to be sick.
