ENDSARS Protests: Osun APC condemns lootings, commiserates with business owners, party leaders

Abimbola Abatta, Osogbo

The All Progressives Congress(APC) extraction in Osun State for two days running, the state chapter of the party has condemned the development.

It would be recalled that last week hoodlums broke into some private and public businesses in towns across the state where they engaged in looting spree.

Offices and residences of some APC leaders and political functionaries were not spared in the looting melee where several items were carted away.

It would also be recalled that the state Governor Gboyega Oyetola escaped death by the whiskers in the hands of some hoodlums who penetrated the rank and file of the ENDSARS protesters when the governor was addressing them at Olaiya Junction in Osogbo a few days ago.

The state chairman of the APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun, in a statement issued by his Media Consultant, Kola Olabisi, today said such attacks and lootings were misplaced, inhuman and wicked.

Famodun saluted the courage and mature tolerance of all the APC leaders across the state for refusing to join physical issues with the economic terrorists who engaged in the looting spree with reckless abandon.

He stated that their exhibition of maturity in handling the flagrant provocation of the looters made a didactic statement that it’s the owner of a bottom who would resist it from becoming rotten.

Famodun who also enjoined the APC stakeholders not to be deterred with the unsavoury experience from the looters with its attendant physical attacks of some individuals stated further that they should take it as one of the prizes for serving the people.

In his statement: “The political class of the APC extraction should not allow the latest political development to be a clog in their resolve to continue to serve mankind.

“Kindly bear with us and continue to be of service to Nigeria in general and Osun State in particular”, the state party chairman pleaded.

He also said that it would be imperative for him to commiserate with the business community for their numerous losses in the state when their outfits were looted and attacked by the hoodlums under the guise of engaging in ENDSARS protest.

“I will also like to commiserate with the corporate and individual bodies like Omoluabi Garment Factory, TUNS Farm Limited, Justrite, Fortunate Bakery, Osun Ankara, Osun APC State Secretariat and others too numerous to mention over their losses during the looting spree by the anti-socio-political miscreants who are fugitive to justice”, he said.

Famodun who was grateful to God Almighty for sparing the life of Governor Oyetola during the attack on him stated further that “discerning minds and right-thinking members of the society won’t beat about the bush to conclude that based on the manners of the attacks and lootings, they were pointedly against the APC leaders.”
