Election outcome: Don’t despair, pray for leaders – US Evangelist, Anim to Nigerians

A United States gospel preacher, Evangelist Marian Anim has urged Nigerians not to despair over the outcome of the 2023 presidential elections.

Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared winner of the presidential election.

Anim said citizens should not feel that God did not answer their prayers no matter the outcome of the polls.

She said they should rather pray for the leaders to succeed.

The gospel preacher spoke in Enugu on Tuesday during a press briefing ahead of ‘Jesus is Love Crusades’ scheduled for the Coal City State from today, Wednesday.

The city-wide crusade, which is being organized in partnership with the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, is taking place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Anim said after Christians had prayed over a situation, they should accept the outcome as the will of God.

She said, “We have traveled across the world bringing the gospel of deliverance and the Lord has never failed.

“We believe God has a reason for sending us to Enugu.

“Nigeria has just finished an election and it is recovering. So, the Lord is here to heal, not just physically but emotionally and psychologically. I encourage everyone to come.

“We believe that as the people have gone through the harsh way, the Lord will use us as quenching water.”

While admonishing those who feel disappointed with the outcome of the polls, she added that: “God answers prayers irrespective of how we feel; when Jesus told us how to pray, the major thing is that we should pray that the will of God be done.

“So, sometimes, it might not be what we want, but if we prayed, we know that He answered.

“We should just trust the process and see what the Lord will do. My assignment is just to pray for all of us. We must join hands to pray and trust the process that no matter what, no matter the turnout, it will favour us.

“So, at the end of the day, we must pray for our leaders; no matter what, we should live in peace and it will augur well for us.

“We should trust God and keep praying,” she advised.

At the press briefing was the chairman of the CAN in Enugu State, Rev. Emmanuel Edeh and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Crusade, Bishop Joseph Ajujungwa.
