Election: NSCDC lauds personnel’s coordination
Dr Ahmed Audi, Commandant-General (C-G), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has commended personnel’s conduct during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Mr Olusola Odumosu, NSCDC’s Director of Public Relations, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, commended officers and men of the Corps for their impressive performances and professionalism during the first phase of the 2023 general election.
He quoted Audi as stating reports from states revealed that deployed personnel ensured security during the elections without compromise.
The C-G appreciated the unprecedented synergy and cooperation between security agencies during the elections.
“It is a demonstration that with proper coordination and good understanding of one another, security agencies in the country have the capability to surmount any security challenges confronting the nation,” Audi added.
He praised personnel’s prompt responses to emergency situations while supporting the police to achieve peace and orderliness, especially, in areas where there were reports of attacks by hoodlums on polling units.
The C-G charged the officers and men to carry over the resilience, doggedness and commitment displayed during the Presidential and National Assembly elections to the governorship and state assembly elections.
Audi hoped that the late arrival of INEC officials and materials as complained about in some polling units would be redressed.
“We are confident this will be improved upon in the second phase of the elections scheduled to hold on March, 11, 2023,” he said.
