Ekiti Governor’s wife presents gifts to first baby of the year
Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has presented cash gifts and other necessary materials to the first baby of the year in the state with advice for the parents to take good care of their new born.
The baby girl, delivered at Comprehensive Health Centre, Ilawe Ekiti, around 12.02 in the early hours of the new year, weighed 3.02 kilogramme.
The governor’s wife, who noted that the provision of the gift items was the normal practice and culture of her office, promised continuous support for people with special needs and attention.
Dr Oyebanji expressed the belief that if the child is given quality education and proper upbringing, she would get to the pinnacle of her future dreams.
She, therefore, appreciated the people of the community and sought their unrelentless prayer for the present administration to achieve success in all areas.
The parents of the baby, Mr and Mrs Bakare Hammed, who are artisans, thanked the governor’s wife for the gesture.
Matron of the Health facility, Mrs Catherine Okunola, the Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care, Dr Ayodele Seluwa, and the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Peju Babafemi among others, witnessed the event.
