Ekiti First Lady canvasses recruitment of physically challenged persons into civil service

The First Lady of  Ekiti State, Mrs Bisi Fayemi has appealed to the state government  to consider recruitment  of qualified persons living with disabilities into the state civil service.

Mrs Fayemi  made the appeal on Monday in Ado Ekiti at a meeting with top government officials and executive members of people living with disabilities in the state.

She also assured the people living with disabilities that the special schools in the state would soon be given attention and rehabilitated.

Mrs Fayemi said that necessary support would continue to be given to people living with disabilities, assuring them that they would receive her priority attention at all times.

Also, the Head of Service in the state, Mrs Peju Babafemi, promised that the state government would ensure that people living with disabilities are recruited into ministries, departments and agencies of government.

“You all know that the government of Dr Kayode Fayemi carry along people from all walks of life, including people living with disabilities and he’s gender sensitive,” she said.

Babafemi advised executives of people living with disabilities to ensure that their members possess prerequisite qualifications to ensure being shortlisted during recruitment exercises.

Earlier, the President of people living with disabilities in Ekiti, Mr Kayode Owolabi, had alleged that their members were not considered during the last recruitment process in the state.

He appreciated the First Lady for always giving ears to their requests.
