Ekiti elections: Group declares support for Segun Oni

Ahead of the 2022 Gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, a philanthropic and humanitarian group that cares for the downtrodden, less privileged and empowerment of the people called; “Dominion Group” has declared its support for the former Governor of Ekiti state, Engr. Adebayo Olusegun Oni in his bid to return to Ekiti Government House in the next year election.
This assertion was made known by a philanthropist, Engr. Kemi Elebute-Halle while speaking with Nigerian NewsDirect at the Great Eagle Hall, along Ado/Ikere road, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti state.
Elebute, a soft spoken kind woman who always sees to the upliftment of her people was full of praises upon seeing the large turnout of her members at the event in their various ankara uniform, T-shirts and other souvenir expressed her joy that she would continue to do more to see the betterment of the people in as much as she is alive.
“I am highly impressed with the show of support by this group to Engineer Segun Oni who is an household name in Ekiti.”
While asking her the reason behind her mobilisation towards the program, she opined, “All that I am interested in is to see a better society through upliftment of my people through various empowerment programmes which will lead to good governance. The moment you have good government in a place, people will feel comfortable and that is what Engr. Segun Oni represents.”
The national coordinator of the group, Chief Eniola Eponlolaye a.k.a, Able God commended his members for the show of solidarity.
“Let me thank our pillar of support, Engr. Kemi Elebute-Halle for standing behind this group. The moment you know her, you will be happy because, as a philanthropist, she is ready to solve your problem which she does, through her Non-Governmental Organization called Dominion Group.”
In his welcome address at the venue, the State Coordinator of Ekiti Progressive, Hon. Wale Ayeni thanked various groups that attended the program.
A former House of Representatives member who is also the Director General, Seguin Oni Campaign Organization, Hon. Yemi Arokodare and the Chairman, Ekiti PDP family, Hon. Ife Arowosoge thanked people and urged them to continue to show their unalloyed support for the aspiration of Segun Oni.
In his response, the gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Segun Oni urged the people to demonstrate their support towards his aspiration.
His words: “I urge everybody and all support groups to continue to win more delegates and Ekiti electorates as we move towards the primary and the general election,” Oni reiterated.
The Alara of Ara in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Dr Adebiyi Segun Kayode represented the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja the second at the occasion alongside the Regent of Ifaki-Ekiti, Prince Babatuyi Olatunji.
Various present and past leaders were honoured which include the former PDP Chairmen in Ekiti State, Chief Ade Ademuagun, Senator Clement Awoyelu and Chief Idowu Faleye.
Dignitaries at the event include the wife of the former Governor, Chief Mrs. Kemi Oni, the secretary of Atunse Ekiti, Dr. Dare Ojo, South West PDP image maker, Chief Sanya Atofarati, South West Ex-officio, Chief Mrs. Lanre Fajuyi, former speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kola Oluwawole, former Chief of Staff to Ayodele Fayose, Hon. Kayode Osho, former Political Adviser to Fayose, Alhaji Yemi Anise, Professor Gbenga Aribisala and Professor Oyinloye .
Among former House of Representatives members that attended was Titilayo Akindaunsi, various former Local Government Chairmen including Barrister Ola Alonge, Hon.Omotayo Ogundare and former House of Assembly members included Hon. Lai Oke.
The popular theatre artist, Chief Peter Fatomilola and his troupe staged a play to enlighten the electorates particularly the delegates to vote for Segun Oni who is widely accepted by all in Ekiti State, Nigerian NewsDirect reports.
