The police prosecutor, Insp. Bamikole Olasunkanmi, told the court that the defendant and others, at large, committed the offence on Saturday at about 1.00 a.m. at Onala Street, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in the correctional centre, pending the release of legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

According to him, the defendant should not be considered for bail, because he committed the alleged crime at about 1.00 a.m, thus making the court to lack jurisdiction.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
