Ekiti citizens appreciate your dedication to duty — Oyebanji tells Police

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has praised the officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force for their unwavering commitment to upholding the law and safeguarding lives and property across the country.

The governor made this statement while receiving members of the Cadet ASP, Regular Course 7, from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudi, Kano State, who paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.

Addressing the 37 students of Ekiti origin from the prestigious institution, who are in the state for their compulsory one-month attachment course, the governor noted that policing is not only a professional calling but also a challenging and demanding responsibility.

He urged the aspiring officers to serve as exemplary representatives of Ekiti, striving to uphold the state’s reputation as a centre of knowledge and a land known for honour, integrity, and sincerity.

Oyebanji, represented by the Deputy Governor, Mrs Monisade Afuye, expressed gratitude to the police for their efforts in maintaining security across the state.

He reassured them that the people of Ekiti deeply appreciate the patriotism and sacrifices made by officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.

“In carrying out our duties as a government, we have come to realise that the police are indispensable in ensuring the safety of lives and property. We hold your work in high regard and recognise the vital role you play.

“Policing is a highly demanding profession. Wherever you are assigned, ensure that you uphold the highest standards and serve as worthy representatives of our state.

“Strive to build upon the legacy of excellence and become officers our nation can take pride in,” he stated.

The President of the Cadet ASP, Regular Course 7, Mr Bukola Oriola, appealed to the government to extend certain benefits, such as the distribution of laptops to aid e-learning and financial assistance, to police cadets. He noted that these initiatives, currently available to students in conventional institutions, would greatly enhance their academic experience and ease the challenges of studying at the academy.

Oriola also explained that the academy is a degree-awarding institution dedicated to training and preparing students for leadership roles as senior officers in the Nigeria Police Force.
