Ejigbo Community in Osun State has commended the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola for his remarkable performance which, according to the residents, has brought tremendous progress and development to the area.

Oyetola was lauded for the different infrastructural facilities that have been erected in Ejigbo.

This is just as the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Omowonuola Oyesosin called on Oyetola to change the name of a high school named after the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka to that of the founder of Ejigbo, Akinjole.

The royal father said the school should be named Akinjole Government Secondary School.

It was gathered that the administration of ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola named the school built in the Ejigbo community Wole Soyinka Government High School.

Oba Oyesosin made the demand for the change of name during a Family meeting organized by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement held at Ejigbo Town Hall.

The monarch averred that the proposed change of name would not only give the people of Ejigbo a sense of belonging, but it would also serve as a reflection of respect accorded to the progenitor of the town.

Maintaining that Ejigbo Community would forever remain grateful to Oyetola, he said, “We sincerely appreciate and commend you over the various physical projects and infrastructural facilities you have considered for our communities as part of your efforts towards making life meaningful for the people of the State.

“Worthy of mention here is our road network which your Government has beefed up to facilitate easy transportation within and outside this Local Government. Indeed, the agonies we passed through some years back, the journey from Ejigbo to Osogbo and other neighbouring places have become a thing of the past, courtesy of your love for Ejigbo Community.

“We have never had it so good like this as a community. We commend your good intentions, reflecting on the hard work you put in to make life better for us in the state of Osun.”

In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, commended the people for their unflinching support to the current administration.

Oyintiloye assured them that all their aspirations and desires would be accorded necessary consideration.
