Eid-el-Kabir: Police assure adequate security in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Bunu, has charged officers and men of the Command to be professional in conduct and respect human rights always in line with the teaching, vision and mission of the Acting Inspector-General of Police.

The Commissioner held an intensive meeting with all Area Commanders and Divisional Police officers DPOs, tasking them to ensure adequate security coverage and peaceful conduct during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the state.

This was contained in a press statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital, by the Acting State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Yazid Abubakar.

According to the statement, the commissioner also deployed additional patrol teams to all nooks and crannies of the state to ensure maximum security before, during and after the celebration.

“Those coming to the state to celebrate sallah have been assured of a safe environment to freely go about their normal activities without let or hindrance”, the statement added.

Binu wished all Muslim faithful in the State a happy celebration in advance and urged the people of the State to be security conscious and report any suspicious person(s) to the relevant authorities for prompt action.
