Eid-el-Kabir: Bauchi Deputy Governor tasks Muslims on tolerance, prayers

The Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Mr Auwal Jatau, has urged Muslim faithful to be tolerant and prayerful for peace and stability in the state.

Jatau made the call while speaking with journalists shortly after the Eid-el-Kabir prayer in Bauchi on Wednesday.

According to him, persistent prayer to God is critical to sustaining the relative peace being enjoyed by the people of the state.

“We should appreciate Allah that Bauchi State has been relatively calm and peaceful.

“But we still need to intensify our prayers and find ways to tolerate one another towards the unity of the state and our dear country.”

The Deputy Governor also called on residents of the state to be law-abiding and respect constituted authorities.

He equally called for intense prayer for sufficient rainfall, which he described as “critical” for bumper harvest and food security.

He congratulated Gov. Bala Mohammed and the entire Muslim ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Jatau assured residents of the State Government’s commitments to build the needed human capital and infrastructural development to improve the standard of living of the people.
