
Eid-el-Fitr: NSCDC deploys 2,800 operatives for special operations in Kwara
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara Command, has deployed 2,800 personnel, to secure national assets and ensure public safety across the state during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The State Commandant of the corps, Mr Umar Mohammed, said that the personnel had been strategically deployed across the 16 local government areas, in the state, with priority given to high-risk zones.
Mohammed said that personnel would also be deployed to black spots, flashpoints, vulnerable locations and areas prone to criminal activities.
He said that specialised tactical teams and intelligent operatives had been mobilised to conduct surveillance, deter criminal activities and respond swiftly to emergencies.
“Additionally, Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have been directed to intensify patrols and enhance operational effectiveness throughout the festive period,” he said.
The commandant extended warm wishes to Muslim faithful and urged residents to remain security conscious and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
He called on residents in the state to report any suspicious activities, while cautioning miscreants against any attempts to disrupt public peace.
He assured that the corps was fully prepared to enforce the law and ensure a hitch-free celebration.
