Eid-el-Fitr: NOA urges Nigerians to be security conscious
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Wednesday urged Muslims to be security conscious during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration on May 13.
Mr Zubair Galadima-Soba, the Kaduna State director of the agency, made the call during an interview with newsmen in Kaduna.
“We are calling on Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to celebrate in peace, love and unity.
“The spirit of Ramadan and Sallah is that of sacrifice, endurance, peace, love and good neighbourliness.
“Nigerians should also be security conscious at their homes, neighborhood and avoid things that would cause disharmony and lack of peace,” he said.
The director added that Nigerians should avoid anything that would lead to crime and criminality.
He urged the public to use the phone numbers already distributed by security agencies to report any suspicious movement or behaviour around their neighbourhood.
He appealed to citizens to observe the COVID-19 protocols of social distancing, washing of hands and the use of face mask while celebrating.
According to him, NOA’s objective is to ensure that people live in peace. “Nigerians should share and give in this season as it strengthens the bond of friendship and peaceful coexistence.
“It is very important to be law abiding and avoid breaking traffic rules this season,” he added.
