EFCC apprehends 37 suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the arrest of 37 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud across different locations in Ilorin, Kwara State.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to Oyewale, 15 suspects were apprehended in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of Ilorin on Wednesday, while an additional 22 were arrested on 22nd March in the Tanke, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede areas of the city.

He stated that the arrests followed credible intelligence linking the individuals to fraudulent online activities.

“Items recovered at the time of arrest included eight luxury vehicles, smartphones, and high-end laptop computers,” he revealed. “The suspects will be arraigned in court upon the completion of investigations,” he added.
