Edo assembly confirms 11 commissioner nominees, Chief Judge

The Governor had asked the house to screen and confirm the nominees in a letter dated September 28.

The Edo House of Assembly has confirmed 11 commissioner nominees sent to it by the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki for approval.

The nominees were cleared after the assembly endorsed the report of the Committee on Rules, Business and Government House chaired by the Majority Leader, Henry Okhuarobo.

Following the committee’s report that the nominees were competent and physically fit to assume their roles, the assembly unanimously confirmed them in a voice vote.

Mr Obaseki had in a letter dated September 28, addressed to the Speaker, Marcus Onobun, requested the house to screen and confirm the nominees as commissioners in the State.

Those on the list include Oluwole Osamudiamen lyamu (Oredo LGA), Obehi Akoria (Esan West), Joan Oviawe (Uhumwode), Ethan Uzamere (Ovia South West) and Monday Osaigbovo (Ovia North-East).

Others were Marie Edeko (Esan North East), Joseph Eboigbe (Esan Central), Moses Agbukor (Etsako East), lsoken Omo (Ikpoba-Okha), Andrew Emwanta (Egor) and Otse Momoh-Omorogbe (Etsako West).

Meanwhile, the assembly also confirmed the nomination of Joe Acha as the new Chief Judge of the state.
