Osun State Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict Alabi, has admonished Christians around the world to learn from the lessons of Easter and exhibit perseverance in all their dealings.
He added that as Easter signified the resurrection of Jesus Christ after the crucifixion, it also paved the way for Christians to renew their hope in total victory over sin.
Alabi, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olaniyi Ajibola, enjoined Christians to be guided by the essence of Easter celebration, adding that the event remained the foundation of the Christian faith.
The Deputy Governor, further said that the level of consistency and endurance displayed by Jesus Christ at the verge of his crucifixion could be replicated as guiding inspiration for nation-building and sustainable nationhood across the globe.
He, however, implored political leaders to emulate Jesus Christ and always be ready to make sacrifices for the wellbeing of their followers by putting their interests first before any other considerations.
“As I rejoice with people in the state of Osun, Nigeria and the world at large on this special season to celebrate the triumph of our Lord Jesus Christ over death, to redeem the mankind from sin, I also implore us to imbibe the teachings of this season as our guiding principles.
“There is no doubt that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ have taught us the significance of perseverance and persistence,” he stated.
