Easter: Kaduna Christians commence activities heralding death, resurrection of Jesus

Church activities heralding the death, and subsequent resurrection of Jesus Christ are ongoing in Kaduna State as Christians mark Good Friday.

Christians all over the world, as a mark of honour, from today are mourning the death of Jesus who was sold to his killers by one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot.

Several churches in Kaduna were open praising God, singing hymns and fasting to seek the forgiveness of their sins.

At Baptist Church, Angwar Boro, Pastor of the church, Dr. Reuben Akpoti said all members had been subjected to prayers and fasting since the beginning of this week, because a betrayer is about to kill their saviour and with prayers, their sins could be forgiven, their strength renewed and they made worthy and acceptable.

At St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rev. Father John Madaki told the mourners that those who seek the face of God would never lack, adding that by prayers and supplication, they would surely inherit the kingdom of God.

However, those who could not make it to church, were seen at their door posts praying fervently, and praising God.

Pastor Enoch Moses, Senior Pastor, Finger of God Church, Kaduna, said members are fervently praying for Nigeria, hoping that God would direct all elected leaders to rule and be in charge of the affairs of the country.

A resident, Mrs. Ruth Joseph, expressed gratitude to God for protection, loving kindness, adding that she believed the death of Jesus would surely bring good things into her life.
