Easter celebration: Oyo NSCDC deploys personnel, assures adequate security

The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,( NSCDC) CC Dr, Michael Akintayo Adaralewa has said securing lives and properties of the citizens of Oyo State is not negotiable.

He disclosed this during the evaluation of first quarter security report of all Area Commanders and Divisions in the State at the Command Headquarters old Nitel building, Agodi Ibadan.

Adaralewa advised the public to be vigilant during the celebrations and report any unusual movement or gathering in their environment during the festive period to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps or other Security agencies in the State.

He added that one thousand seven hundred and five (1,705) personnel has been deployed to monitor all sensitive areas, such as Churches, Motor park, Playing ground, Recreation centers and all Federal and State Government infrastructures including NNPC right of ways.

The State Commandant also directed the tactical units as well as the disaster management unit of the State Command to assume strategic position for timely response to distress/disaster during the festive period.

While admonishing all Christian and non-Christian in the State to celebrate with absolute moderation and share love to each other during the Easter.

He enjoined the Christian faithful to reflect on the essence of death, lessons of passion, suffering, forgiveness, love of Christ during the Lenten season and pray for unity of the nation.
