DSC THSOSA holds 15th AGM, announces visibility in Universities

The National Executive Council of Delta Steel Company Technical High School Old Students Association (THSOSA) has announced that the association has stretched its operations to some universities in the country.

This announcement was made at the association fifteen Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Lagos themed Barracuda Invasion.

According to the National
President, Engr. Ajuyah, S. Omajuwa, the expansion was to bring young hands into the system.

In his welcome address, Omajuwa noted that THSOSA has been successfully established into four tertiary institutions in Nigeria. In this regards, he said the association will be able to provide a mentor/ mentee relationship with the students.

He listed the institutions to include University of Benin, University of Lagos, University of Port Harcourt and River State University of Technology.

The President commended THSOSA Benin chapter, Port- Harcourt chapter and Lagos State chapter as he posited that the body will continue to invest generously in education in form of THS Speech/ Prize Giving day and THS inter house sports competition.

“What we intend to tell the world and members alike by this AGM is that THSOSA is all out to define a new dawn in the way an alumni association should be run in the 21st century, with a unique blend of therapeutic effect to wane off stress we all have accumulated at our place of work.

“As was customary, THSOSA presented cash gifts to students that distinguished themselves in the various subjects, sports, as well as in
critical thinking and Applied Knowledge, character and social engagement.

“Prizes were donated by individual members, sets and chapters both in cash and kind in terms of laptop and scholarships amount up to two million Naira”, he pointed out.

The president, also commended the various sets that were able carry out infrastructural projects in the school in terms of renovation of classes, organizing a coding class as well as career talks for the students.

I’m his words, Omajuwa said “It is with heartfelt joy, I wish to inform the house that our association (Delta Steel Company Technical High School Old Student Association) has been duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission”, he announced.

THSOSA Lagos chapter president, Ms Henrietta Ebofuale expressed her excitement on Lagos Chapter hosting this year 2018 AGM and the feats the association has recorded.

However, she advised members to make adequate use of the platform the association creates and remain committed to the growth.

The hosting right for the next AGM, in 2019, went to Benin Chapter of the association, in Edo State.
