Driver gets 12 months jail term for stealing motorcycle

A 28-year-old driver, Musa Samaila has been sentenced, to 12 months in prison by a grade 1 area court sitting in Kabuss Abuja on Thursday for stealing a motorcycle.

Musa Samaila, who was sentenced,by the judge Mallam Abubakar Sadiq without the options of fine pleaded guilty to stealing and claiming that he had been involved in such offences time without number

The prosecutor, Mrs C. C.  Okafor, earlier told the court that the driver, on Dec. 30, 2023, stole a motorcycle belonging to one Mr Dauda Emmanuel while  the motorcycle was parked at the corridor of Emmanuel’s apartment in Wanu Village, Kabusa, before it was reported stolen.

The prosecutor further said the stealing contravened  Section 287 of  the Penal Code.
