Dr. Suswam’s murder:  Benue Executive Council places N5m ransom for information about perpetrators

The Benue State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Samuel Ortom has placed a sum of Five Million Naira (N5,000,000) ransom for anyone with useful information that would  lead  to the arrest.of the  killers of Chief Dr. Terkula Suswam the elder brother to Senator Gabriel Suswam Senator representing Benue North East.

The Executive Council also banned the operations of  Toyota corolla model car otherwise known as “DUCK NYASH” and motor cycles(Okada)  in Sankara axis comprising Katarina Ala, Ukum and Logo local government areas of the State.

Governor Ortom revealed the resolutions of the meeting while briefing Journalists shortly  after the State Executive Council meeting held on Thursday at Government House Makurdi, charged the security agencies  to arrest and prosecute anyone operating with the aforementioned irrespective of his or her status in the society.

The Governor explained that the decision became necessary following the continued usage of these means of transportation by criminals to perpetrate criminality in Sankara and called on the affected local government Council Chairmen to cooperate with security agencies in their respective local government areas to ensure enforcement of the security council directive.

The Governor also announced enforcement of  curfew in Sankara from 6pm to 6am, that within the period restriction of movement in which ever form is enforced.

He called on vehicle owners to ensure documentation of their vehicles at the appropriate quarters while commercial drivers should always ensure loading of passengers in the designated motor Parks in the respective local government area they found themselves.

He further explained that security issues need a collective flight and called on the people of Benue State to be alert at all times to report any suspicious persons and happening to the security Operatives for necessary action..
