DPO murder: Rivers Police confirms death of 2-Baba, prime suspect

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the death of the notorious prime suspect to the gruesome murder of SP Bako Angbashim of the Ahoada Division, Gift Okpara AKA, 2-Baba of the Iceland Cult.
In a press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Command said the feat was recorded through joint operations of the Police, DSS,Air force and other security agencies.
According to the statement,the last joint raid on the camp of 2-Baba was the last straw that broke the camel’s back after several raids on the multiple camps of the culprit were aborted.
“At 04:00hrs, operatives raided 2BABA’s new camp. Despite a fierce gun battle, 2BABA and his gang members escaped. However, at around 14:00hrs, intelligence confirmed 2BABA’s death after he lost consciousness and resuscitation attempts failed.
“Efforts are in progress to retrieve the body of the infamous killer, while investigations into the Iceland cult’s activities in the region continue,” the PPRO said.
During the raid, several items were recovered from the scene,which include, one AK47 rifle, one G3 rifle, one scorpion rifle, one Double barrel locally made gun, two locally made pistols, one cut-to-size double barrel gun, one bullet proof vest, thirteen pieces of dynamites, five rounds of .9mm live ammunition, army camouflage, assorted charms, one human skull and one jack knife,among others.
