Don’t die for politicians — Osun Monarch advises youths

The Olowu of Owu Kuta, Oba Hameed Oyelude Makama, has admonished Nigerian youths to shun the belief of dying for any political leader or politician during electioneering campaigns in the country, saying they are not worthy to die for.

Oba Makama who gave the warning on Sunday while speaking at the 2021 Osun Youth Ambassador Award held at Laim Hotel in Osogbo, Osun State declared that the youth should not engage in political crisis or die because of any politician.

The outspoken traditional ruler who made the remarks at the event attended by hundreds of politicians from different political parties in the state noted that at the end of the electioneering campaigns, politicians would drop their political differences to come together when the government is formed.

According to him, “Don’t die for politicians. Don’t let any politician use you to cause chaos in the state or in any part of the country like some people did during the EndSARS.

“You see the way all of them are seated here today greeting each other despite the differences in their political parties and factions.

“They are friends. You should not create enemies for yourself because of them,” the Olowu of Kuta stated.
