The Minister for Communication Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr ‘Bosun Tijani at the just concluded zenith tech fair recognised the need for Nigeria to be one of the key leaders in the 4th industrial revolution.
The Minister acknowledging the efforts Zenith Bank has played in prioritising technological advancement emphasised the need for technical efficiency and industrial revolution as it is a key to driving economic growth.
He noted that AI would help drive growth and development, business opportunities, increase productivity, let government access resources and help the citizens have a shot at quality life.
The Minister also noted that Nigeria had embraced the latest revolution and is also looking to becoming a key player by funding AI across all sectors.
He said, “Artificial Intelligence is already an innovation Nigeria is looking to embrace which will help Nigerians have an unlimited access to Knowledge.”
He added that Nigeria is looking to becoming a global leader in AI industry within the next 4 years through data inclusion.
The Minister also welcomed the use of AI to create jobs and diversify the economy encouraging private and government partnership in technological advancement.
Already Nigeria has started funding the application of AI by launching a research scale of 45 academic industry projects.
