DGN, AGN express sadness over Nollywood Actor, Ernest Asuzu’s death

The Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN) and the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) have expressed their condolences over the death of Nollywood Actor, Ernest Asuzu, describing it as a sad one.

Reports said that the 37-year-old actor slumped and was rushed to an hospital in Lagos on Tuesday where he was confirmed dead.

The AGN President, Emeka Rollas described the death of the actor as a sad one, adding that the industry would miss him.

“Yes, his death has been confirmed and it is a sad one. I just spoke with the family and I pray God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

“We are also waiting for the family to let us know the burial plans so that the guild would know how to support in the preparations.

“He is a great actor who would be missed by his fans and the industry at large, “he said.

The DGN President, Fred Amata, said information about the death just got to him which he described as a great loss to the industry.

“It is getting really trying, you know, to hear about it and get used to it. It is beginning to get to us the need to understand better what our purpose in life is.

“We pray for the souls that has gone. Somehow, it is the assurance that our journey here is not waisted. For instance, I have been receiving calls as regards Ernest Asuzu’s death which means there are some things that he must have done right.

“Like I said, we mourn the death but we must celebrate their life. We should sometimes overlook the pain of death when it comes and celebrate the life because you must first be alive to die.

“We give God the Glory. It is touching and painful, but we will continue to celebrate his life,”he said.

His acting career started in the 90s but his career nosedived in 2015 when he had stroke and was bedridden for three years.

Chivido 2024: Davido, wife jet out of Nigeria after lavish wedding

Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido and his wife, Chioma, have jetted out of Nigeria after their wedding.

In a post via X on Thursday, Davido shared images of the jet, with the caption, “Let’s first launch this one.”

A video was taken of the couple boarding the private jet in Lagos, along with Davido’s team members like Asa Asika, Lati, and Chioma’s manager, Ubi Franklin.

Although the reason and destination of the travel remains unknown, it is believed that the new couple flew out for their honeymoon.

Davido tied the knot with his longtime partner Chioma in a grand ceremony attended by top celebrities and dignitaries.

During the celebration, Davido also surprised Chioma with a car gift and the couple received generous gifts of dollars from their family and friends

CHIVIDO2024: Stars align as Davido, Chioma tie the Knot

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and the senator representing the Edo South Senatorial District of Edo State, Daisy Danjuma, has arrived at the venue of the ongoing wedding ceremony between award-winning musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his partner, Chioma Rowland.

Also present is Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, Reggae-dancehall singer, Patroranking, and Skit maker Craze Clown, who are also at the venue.

Their arrival was disclosed in different videos shared on social media on Tuesday.

PUNCH Online reports that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and popular businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly called Obi Cubana are also at the venue of the event in Lagos.

The couple’s wedding has been building up excitement on social media with the hashtag #CHIVIDO2024 since the duo released their pre-wedding photoshoot.
