A High Court in Otor – Udu in Delta State, presided over by Justice Florence Azinge during the weekend sentenced one Pastor Glory Okeoghene Aberefa and Reverend Vincent Okpogo to 16 and 10 years imprisonment, respectively.

The duo, including their company: Mustard Seed Micro Investment Limited, were prosecuted by the Benin Zonal office of the Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC), and under the guise of running a financial institution, the convicts defrauded dozens of unsuspecting members of the public of millions of naira through their fraudulent Mustard Seed Micro Investment Limited.

They were arraigned on 16- count charges bordering on conspiracy to steal and stealing Contrary to Section 516 and 390( 9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 21 , vol 1 laws of Delta state of Nigeria 2006

On June 19,2017, they pleaded not guilty to the charges as the EFCC legal team members, Vincent Agbaje, and Kenneth Udus, had acted on a petition which fingered them in the stealing of the sum of N32.516, 620: but Pastor Aberefa was sentenced to one year imprisonment on each of the 16-count while the second defendant, Reverend Okpogo was sentenced to one year imprisonment each on count seven to 16.

The sentences are to run consecutively as the convicts were earlier jailed 17 years by Federal High Court Asaba, and Warri, while they will serve a new sentence which Justice Azinge said would take effect after completion of the extant 17 years imprisonment.

Meanwhile, a 45- year old housewife identified as Chinyere Ngbala in Ugbolu Community near Asaba was in the early hours of Sunday allegedly caught pants down by her husband after she was said to have been lured into sexual intercourse by a rival boyfriend with bush meat.

The angry husband, Philip Ngbala who confirmed this to journalists in Asaba, said that “My wife used to sell pork meat until this Igbo lured her with five big different bush meat and they both went into hotel for sex where information reached me and I raced to the hotel and caught them red-handed.”

Sources said that the housewife, a mother of three children penultimate Wednesday had attempted to escape from the house with the boyfriend to hotel, but was blown open by her last born who openly screamed that one man was waiting to take her mother away, a situation she denied

Speaking further, the husband of the woman said “no one seeing the tantalizing bush meat dropping oil will turn his or her face away , and my wife was carried away by this until I caught her and the man in a hotel around the Ugbolu Community while having sex with the man with a condom. I have asked her to pack out of my house with her children and follow the man,” disclosing that upon interrogation, the man who claimed to be a farmer had said the housewife told him  she was divorced, hence, he ( suspect) intensified the relationship.

A neighbour who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said that the housewife after the deal was sealed, asked her 14-year-old daughter to continue with the sale of the pork meat she often sells at Ugbolu Community market, leaving with the man to the hotel before the bubble burst.

The woman, however, in a swift reaction, alleged her husband to have been impotent over the years, adding that all her efforts to ensure everything possible for him proved abortive following his alleged decision to do away with herbal medicine.
