Delta: Osun APC calls out Gov Adeleke’s over claim on achievement in two years
By Ismail Azeez, Osogbo
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Osun State chapter, has worried over Governor Ademola Adeleke’s claim on achievement within the space of two years of administration.
The party told the people of Nigeria in general and Delta State in particular not to be carried away by what it described as lies spewed by Governor Adeleke about the self-invented superlative performance of his government.
It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke, last week, at the commissioning of a by-pass road in Asaba, the Delta State capital, on the invitation of the state Governor Sheriff Oborevwori told the audience on the occasion that he had turned Osun State to a construction site.
Commenting on the development, the Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, today, stated that he was not, as usual, disappointed by the misinformation and falsehoods reeled out by Governor Adeleke in Asaba in order to curry an undue excellent performance accolades for himself.
Lawal told the Delta State Governor Oborevwori that the opposite was the case of what his brother, Osun State governor came to tell him and the people of Delta State about his administration.
He explained that the endeavour of Governor Adeleke in Delta State could be likened to a scenario of a lazy man who is dazzled with the superlative achievements of others which his pathological lack of capacity is denying him of accomplishing.
He described him(Adeleke) as an absentee governor and a stranger to his own administration who has surrendered the running of his government to the third party who never stood in for any election.
The APC state chairman noted that Adeleke’s actions and inactions in government have depicted him as someone whose interest in governance was engendered by the spoils of the office he is accidentally occupying.
Lawal hinted that the multi-billion naira infra projects that Adeleke is flaunting are mere misplaced priority and political bobby traps which have not recorded up to 10 percent attention since their commencement about one year ago.
He also disclosed that it might be that there is another place under the Federation of the Republic of Nigeria that Governor Adeleke was referring to as where his government has made any meaningful impact on the rural roads but definitely not the Osun State that its capital is based in Osogbo.
In Lawal’s words: “Must Governor Adeleke always spew out barefaced lies to run his visibly embattled administration when he should be in the know of the fact that internet has converted the whole world into a global village?
“We are not disappointed as a party that Governor Adeleke has been finding it pretty difficult to record a single success story about his accidental administration as it is an impossible Utopia for someone to give what he does not possess.
“The prayers of the highest percentage of the people of Osun State today is that Governor Adeleke should hurriedly finish his constitutionally-allowed first term in order to give way to a tested hand who would not be a source of constant embarrassment to the people of the state”, the Osun State APC chairman stated.
