Delta LG poll: PDP candidate promises to consolidate on past achievements
Dr Michael Tidi, of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has promised to consolidate on his past achievements, as Warri South local council chairman in Delta, if reelected in the March 6, local councils poll.
Tidi made the promise when he spoke on Thursday during his electioneering campaign in Warri, urging the people to vote overwhelmingly for PDP.
“I will consolidate on my past achievement as council chairman,” Tidi said.
The campaign train led by the state PDP deputy chairman, Mr Val Areyinka visited Okere, Pesu, Ugbunwague/Ekurede and Bowen wards, all located in Warri South local council.
Areyinka, while addressing party faithfuls, urged all PDP members in Warri South to vote for Tidi and Mrs Divine Iniovosa as the Chairman and Vice Chairmanship candidates and all the counselors.
“Warri South has always been a PDP council and I believe the party will deliver all its candidates in the Saturday’s election,” he said.
Mr Julius Takeme, chairman, Delta South PDP who also spoke at the rally, said that Warri South was the home of PDP adding that it had one of the most vibrant and young chairmanship candidate in the state.
“This is the beginning of the countdown of our taking over the government at the centre. We have rejected the APC government and we will vote them out in 2023,” he said.
Rep. Thomas Ereyetomi, representing Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, in his speech, said the Saturday’s election would shape the narrative of PDP in 2023.
“PDP members must deliver all candidates so that we can work for the party in 2023,” he said.
Dr Joseph Otumara appealed to the party supporters to vote for PDP candidates across the state.
“Politics is an expression of interest to bring happiness to the people.
“Therefore, I want all of you to cooperate at the various wards and deliver all our candidates on Saturday,” he said.
