Delta Govt to take technical education to all local governments

The government of Delta state plans to take technical education to every local government area of the state in order to boost technical education in the state.

Delta state Chief of Staff, Hon. Ovie Agas stated this in Asaba yesterday after inspecting the Asaba Technical College which is nearing completion.

According to the Chief of Staff, Governor Okowa realised from the beginning that to go forward and to change the narrative of the youths, there was need to give them relevant skills and knowledge and that was why he decided to renovate the existing technical colleges and build additional ten colleges.

Hon. Agas, who said at the occasion that Governor Okowa was very desirous of finishing strong, noted that the Technical College Asaba was almost 90 percent ready, adding that the major work left to be done was landscaping and provision of sporting facilities.

He expressed satisfaction at the level of work done, adding that the beds for the hostel were ready.

In her remarks at the occasion, Commissioner for Technical Education in Delta State, Princess Shola Daibo expressed joy at the level and pace of work at the college.

She expressed appreciation to the governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for the quality of the infrastructures at the various technical colleges across the state, adding that the quality made the colleges more like universities.

She prayed for continuous availability of funds so that the technical colleges being built across the state would be completed in good time.
