DeBasco Group welcomes more defectors to APC, pledges to work for Abiodun’s re-election
…to receive 20,000 politicians back to APC on February 14th welcome back party
Ahead of March 11th, 2023 Governorship poll in Ogun State, a State-based Political Movement – DeBasco Group has welcomed hundreds of defectors from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) back to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
DeBasco Group welcomed back the defectors in their hundreds back to the All Progressives Congress (APC), having resolved to work for the re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun in March 11th, 2023 Governorship election and Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Presidency in February 25th, 2023 Presidential election.
The re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun as Governor of Ogun State, according to Otunba Babatunde Onakoya, the Chairman of DeBasco Mobilization Group for Dapo Abiodun 2023, is borne out of the determination to mobilise and ensure that Governor Abiodun gets a second chance in order to complete all ongoing capital projects spread across 20 Local Government Areas of the State.
Consequently, Otunba Onakoya, who was also the State Chairman of DeBasco Mobilization Group that delivered and worked for re-election of ex-Governor Ibikunle Amosun in 2015, has started rallying round people in the State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to guarantee a second term for Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Making a declaration for APC and Abiodun’s re-election at one of the defection meetings held in Abeokuta on Tuesday, Fatimah Ogunsanu, who led some members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State to DeBasco Group and APC, said they were convinced that “Prince Dapo Abiodun will be re-elected based on his unprecedented achievements and popularity in Ogun State.
“For the first time in the history of Ogun State, we are having Airport in Ilishan-Remo which will serve both cargoes and passengers. If you look around, you will notice that Mr Governor has done at least one capital project, be it school building, township road or primary healthcare facility in all the 236 wards in the State.
“So, if you consider this and other projects that our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR has done in the last three and half years, one will be convinced and will be left with nothing except to support him for re-election.
“That is why I led my team to join APC through DeBasco Group, ably chaired by our leader from Ogun East, Otunba Babatunde Onakoya. We are going to work with him to ensure re-election of Prince Dapo Abiodun and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our President. Come February 14th, 2023, there will be a maga defection of more than 20,000 politicians across State to APC through DeBasco Group at a Welcome Back Party to be held in Ijebu-Ode,” Ogunsanu said.
Responding, Otunba Babatunde Onakoya, said that DeBasco Group and its Chairman would mobilise people across 20 Local Government Areas to vote for Dapo Abiodun and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Governor and President, respectively, in the 2023 General Elections as we have rallied round huge number of people and politicians across the State for the purpose of elections.
“DeBasco Group will use its political goodwill to canvass for votes for Governor Dapo Abiodun, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the entire Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We have done it in the past and we shall do it again. We will start winning the elections by the time we hold our Mega Welcome Back Party in Ijebu-Ode on the 14th February, 2023. We shall welcome back over 20,000 politicians from PDP, ADC and other political parties in the State, who will mobilise people across the State for APC, Dapo Abiodun and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I know we are winning all our elections,” Otunba Onakoya boasted.
Meanwhile, DeBasco Group will be empowering thousands of defectors at the Welcome Back Party to be held in Ijebu-Ode on Valentine Day in February as cash, food items, writing materials and small working tools will be given to people as party empowerment programmes of the Group.
