Dapo Abiodun, Deputy deliver polling units

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State as well as his Deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele have both emerged victorious at their polling units.

Gov Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who voted at his Polling Unit 2, Ward 3, Ita Osanyin, Iperu Remo in Ikenne local government polled 147 votes to beat his closest rival, Hon Ladipupo Adebutu of PDP with 142 votes. Barr Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) recorded two votes.

Incidentally, Abiodun and Adebutu, his closest rival in the governorship race are from same town of Iperu Remo.

Similarly, the Deputy Governor of the state, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele at her Ward 3, Polling Unit 76, Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government also recorded victory for her party, APC polling 147 while PDP recorded 37 votes. ADC got 6 votes.

In the same Polling Unit, for the House of Assembly, APC polled 144, PDP 33 while ADC had 8 votes.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor who voted around 11:48am had lauded the impressive turn out of the people as well as their peaceful conduct noting that the process was smooth, peaceful and devoid of rancor as people were seen waiting to exercise their franchise.
