Dangote is NewsDirect Business Leader of the year
Dangote, one of Nigeria’s leading conglomerates, has been named NewsDirect Business Leader of the Year, winning the prestigious “Most Preferred and Admired Brand (Manufacturing)” award at the 14th Nigerian NewsDirect Lecture and Award Ceremony.
The recognition highlights its remarkable achievements and contributions to the country’s economic development, celebrating Dangote’s innovative leadership, expansion into diverse sectors including cement, agriculture, and oil, and its impact on creating jobs and driving industrial growth in Nigeria and across Africa. Under visionary leadership, Dangote has consistently demonstrated resilience, operational excellence, and a commitment to sustainable development.
The event took place at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, drawing a distinguished audience of business leaders, government officials, and financial experts.
Themed “Achieving Economic Prosperity: The Role of Human Capacity Development, Fiscal Prudence, and Revenue Generation,” the ceremony celebrated outstanding contributions across various sectors of Nigeria’s economy.
Dangote’s recognition underscores the company’s leadership in the manufacturing sector and enduring commitment to excellence, innovation, and socio-economic development.
In his remarks, Chairman of the occasion and chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru highlighted the critical role played by industry giants like Dangote in driving economic growth and fostering human capital development.
He praised the company’s consistent efforts toward enhancing local production capacity and creating thousands of jobs across Africa.
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, a senior general manager, Esan Sunday from Dangote Industries expressed gratitude for the recognition, reaffirming the company’s dedication to sustaining high manufacturing standards and contributing to Nigeria’s industrial growth.
The event also included networking sessions, and insightful presentations from industry experts, emphasising strategies for economic sustainability and national development.
The award reaffirms Dangote Industries Limited’s status as a manufacturing powerhouse and a trusted brand that continues to shape Africa’s industrial landscape through innovative and impactful business practices.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities from Nigeria’s public and private sectors, including Mr. Ayodele Subair, Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS); Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC); amongst others of whose presence underscored the importance of collaboration in advancing excellence and economic growth.
