Dangote Cement donates medical items worth millions to Public Health Centre in Ogun Community

Dangote Cement Plc has donated medical items worth millions of naira to Ibese Public Health Centre in Ogun State, to improve the well-being and general health care delivery in its host communities.

The company made this known in a statement signed by Mr Francis Awowole-Browne, Communication Personnel, Dangote Group, on Wednesday in Lagos.

According to the statement, the donation was part of the activities marking the 2023 Dangote Sustainability Week. 

Some of the items include mattresses, wheelchairs, drip stands, solar lamps, sphygmomanometers, infrared thermometers and baby cots, amongst others.

Dangote Cement Plant Ibese Sustainability Lead, Miss Annabelle Umoetuk, explained that the items donated were decided upon following the needs assessment carried out by the company.

Umoetuk stated that the provision of the items would improve delivery of medical services to the people.

She said that the cement plant would continue to partner with the stakeholders for the development of the local communities.

Receiving the items, Chief Tajudeen Adewuyi, the Somofe of Ibeseland, said the gesture reflected Dangote Cement Plc’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of members of its host communities.

Adewuyi assured the company that the donated items would be deployed for the benefits of the community.

The traditional ruler described the company as a trusted and worthy partner that had lived up to the expectations of the people of the host community.

He pledged that the people would reciprocate by ensuring peace and tranquility continue to reign in the area.
