Dabiri-Erewa hails Ford Foundation for philanthropic gestures to humanity

Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has praised the Daniel Ford Foundation for its significant philanthropic efforts towards humanity.

Dabiri-Erewa, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the Daniel Ford International Elite Table Tennis Tournament at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, commended Mr. Yemi Edun for his sponsorship of the tournament, noting his contribution to empowering youth through such initiatives.

She also applauded the Lagos State Government for creating the necessary conditions for the successful hosting of the event. The NIDCOM Chairperson called on other Nigerians in the diaspora, as well as public-spirited individuals and organisations both at home and abroad, to emulate the Ford Foundation’s laudable example in supporting youth development and other causes that benefit society.

Additionally, she congratulated the participants for having the unique opportunity to showcase their talents at the championship.

In response, Mr. Yemi Edun, founder of Daniel Ford International, expressed his gratitude to Dabiri-Erewa for attending the event. He affirmed his commitment to continuing impactful programmes, particularly those aimed at supporting the youth.

The two-day event, which focused on discovering new talents, saw Mr. Abdulfatai Abdulbasit from Kwara State win the Under-19 Boys’ category, while Miss Ayoola Kabirat from Lagos State claimed victory in the Under-19 Girls’ category.
