Cross River Health Insurance Agency releases schedule for enrolment of residents

The Cross River Health Insurance Agency has released the schedule for easy enrolment of the residents in the 18 local government areas into the “Ayadecare” Health Insurance Scheme.

The Director-General of the agency, Mr Godwin Iyala, announced the schedule while briefing newsmen on the plans for the enrolment on Monday in Calabar.

Iyala said that the exercise had been scheduled to begin on March 15 and end on March 20 to capture all the local government areas.

According to him, the agency has set a timeline to capture three local government areas per day.

“Monday, 15th March, will be for Calabar Municipality, Biase and Obudu Local Government Areas, while Tuesday, the 16th will be for Calabar South, Abi and Obanliku Local Government Areas,” he said.

The director general said March 17 had been set aside for Akpabuyo, Yakurr and Bekwarra Local Government Areas.

He said Bakassi, Obubra and Ogoja Local Government Areas would take their turns on March 18 while Odukpani, Ikom and Yala Local Government Areas were scheduled for March 19.

Iyala said the mass enrolment would be wrapped up in Akamkpa, Etung and Boki Local Government Area on March 20.

He called on residents of the state to come out en masse and enroll into the scheme to ensure affordable, quality and accessible health care services without financial burden on the individual.

Recalled that the scheme was launched last week by the state Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade.

An Enrollee is to pay N1000 monthly premium, amounting to N12,000 yearly.
