CP presents N54.5m to heirs of 27 deceased policemen in Katsina

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, Mr Shehu Umar-Nadada, on Friday presented N54.5 million cheques to the families of 27 policemen who died in active service.

Umar-Nadada said that the money was from the IGP’s Family Welfare Insurance Scheme initiated to provide succour for families of deceased policemen who died in active service.

He commended the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba for improving the welfare of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force through such schemes.

The commissioner of police urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money.
Bilkisu Ma’aruf, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the gesture.

She assured that they would utilise the money judiciously to uplift their families in line with the objective of the scheme.
