COVID-19: Women in Osun trained on productivity

No fewer than 50 women have been trained on productivity amidst the economic uncertainties and loss of livelihood in many Nigerian homes occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The women were trained by God’s Daughters Women Ministries in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun State.

The meeting, which was also held virtually to accommodate participants who could not be physically present, recorded 50 registered attendees.

It served as a platform for women entrepreneurs to come together and share experiences on how the novel COVID-19 pandemic has affected businesses while proffering solutions to the various challenges posed by the pandemic.

During the empowerment programme themed; Women Arise Employment Conference held at Spices Restaurant Hall, Oke-fia area of Osogbo, the convener of the ministry, Mercy Adejumo, charged the women on productivity, also tasking them to be God-fearing in the face of pandemic and beyond.

She urged the attendees to take responsibility for family and uphold sustainability policy to empower themselves and others with earning abilities.

Adejumo further enjoined women in Nigeria to play more active and frontal roles to stimulate the growth of businesses and overall development.

The women were also advised to pursue leadership roles in their communities and the corporate world so as to rise to the top echelon of decision making to champion policies and programmes that would ensure sustainable development.
