COVID-19 Taskforce seals-off popular super market in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Government Covid-19 Taskforce on has sealed-off Staleg Mall for non compliance with Covid-19 safety measures.
The leader of the compliance monitoring team and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Health, Dr Jimlas Ogunsakin expressed dissatisfaction at the level of non compliance with the Covid-19 safety protocols at the Super Market, Nigerian NewsDirect.
Dr Ogunsakin who noted that the team had visited the Mall more than once said that it was disheartening that both the attendees and customers seen at the facilities premises were not observant as no one was wearing face masks, no provision for hand washing as well as sanitizer.
Earlier, team visited some worship centres to monitor compliance to COVID safety protocols.
At The Gospel Faith Mission International, (GOFAMINT) and Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Covenant Youths Sanctuary the team sensitize congregants to always adhere to safety measures such as wearing of face masks, maintaining social distance, use of sanitizers as well as regular washing of hands are observed in their various churches.
Dr. Ogunsakin called on church leaders to to continue to use their pulpits to sensitize and mobilize their members to take the advantage of government gesture to get vaccinated. He stressed that getting immunised is the most potent way to curtail the virus.
The Governor’s aide also hinted that cholera was another issues of public health concern that the state is currently fighting with more than five suspected cases in the state.
He appealed to worshippers and Ekiti residents at large to continue to practice personal, food and environmental hygiene to to control to spread of the disease.
