Osun residents have been urged to guard themselves against the Covid-19 pandemic as the state received 47,900 doses of Moderna vaccine from the Federal Government.
The State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola who charged the residents to protect themselves and families maintained that the COVID-19 vaccination is harmless, adding that “The DELTA COVID variant is deadly and even deadlier than the first and second phases of the virus.”
Oyetola said the above while flagging off the received Moderna vaccine.
Represented by his Deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi, Oyetola revealed that the COVID-19 vaccines had been scarce worldwide but the Federal Government in conjunction with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) have been making efforts to get the vaccines for the larger populace.
While encouraging people to report any early signs and symptoms immediately, he reiterated that early detection and treatment are very important.
