Civil Servants under the employment of the Lagos State Government from Grade level (GL) 14 downwards have been directed to maintain the stay-at-home order issued by the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in a bid to stem the spread of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new directive has extended the stay-at-home order for all State Public Servants on Grade Levels 14 and below to Monday, 18th January, 2021.

According to a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the directive excludes staff on essential duty as well as First Responders.

The statement further directed “all public servants to stay safe and ensure continued adherence to all COVID-19 protocols in order to rid the State of the pandemic.”

All staff were further urged to join the virtual Y2021 First Work Day Prayer for all Public Servants in the State via Zoom platform with Meeting ID: 857 4418 2571; Password: 100200 from 7.45a.m  on Monday, 4th January, 2021.

The rise in the number of cases testing positive to COVID-19 has taken a dramatic increase since December, indicating a second wave of the virus which have been speculated to be more deadlier than the first wave of the virus which spanned between March and August. The situation had informed the State Government earlier directing its workers from GL14 downwards to work from home in a bid to contain the spread of the virus.
