COVID-19: FUOYE reinforces safety measures for staff
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has reinforced COVID-19 safety measures in all the faculties of the university to protect the staff from contracting the virus in its second wave.
The Deputy Director Corporate Services of the university, Mr Adeyinka Ademuyiwa, confirmed this development on Thursday in Oye-Ekiti during an interview with the Newsmen.
Ademuyiwa explained that hand sanitizers, infrared thermometer, Veronica Bucket with soap had been placed at every entrance of the faculties and administrative buildings to keep the staff safe.
He said the use of nose masks had become mandatory for every staff before gaining access to any of the facilities of the university.
“The management of the university is very cautious about the health and well-being of the staff and this is why preventive measures have been put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the university.
“At every entrance leading to each of the faculties, a Veronica Bucket with soap, infra thermometer, hand sanitizers have been provided and health personnel will check the temperature of the individual before entering any of the offices.
“We have put all these in place to ensure that members of staff of the university do not get infected and to also ensure that visitors to the university are also protected.
“Whenever the Nigerian universities are set to reopen, FUOYE is equally ready and we will ensure that all our students are well protected from the virus,” he said.
Ademuyiwa urged members of staff of the university to adhere strictly to all the safety measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
