COVID-19: Foundation donates ambulances, facemasks to Yobe Govt.
The BUA Foundation, a Nigeria-based humanitarian and development organisation, on Thursday donated three new ambulances and 100,000 pieces of facemasks to Yobe State Government to fight COVID-19.
Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman of the Foundation, who presented the items in Damaturu said facemasks have been proven scientifically as one of the efficient protection measure against the spread of the virus.
Rabiu who was represented by Dr Idi Aliyu, said the Foundation has so far donated more than N8 billion worth of items towards the fight against COVID-19 across the country.
He added that the foundation was determined to do more as the second wave of the pandemic is proven to be real and probably more deadly.
In his remarks, Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the intervention to the state
“Let me use this opportunity to thank you most sincerely for the humanitarian activities being rendered to our dear nation, especially the North East region and Yobe in particular,” he said.
Buni enjoined the general public to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols prescribed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
