A Grade I Area Court in Karu, FCT, on Monday sentenced a 38-year-old trader, Solomon Igbawua, to eight months imprisonment for stealing iron doors worth N70,000.

The convict, who resides at Karu Site, Abuja pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal trespass and theft and begged for leniency.

The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, also gave Igbawua an option of N30, 000 fine and warned him to desist from committing crimes.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Ayotunde Adeyanju told the court that the complainant, Chukwudi Ipo of Jikwoyi reported the matter at the Karu Police Station on Jan.18.
