Court remands four teenagers for stealing

Four teenagers were on Wednesday remanded in prison by an Osogbo Magistrates’ court over alleged stealing.

The accused are Adeyemi Agboola, 18, Felix Francis, 18; Sunday Richard, 18 and Rasheed Abubakar, 19.

It was gathered that the defendants committed the alleged offence on Monday, November 15, 2021, at about 4:30 am at Surulere Street, off Odi Olowo area Osogbo.

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Razaq Olayiwola alleged that the accused persons on Monday stole one iron steel valued at N300,000, a property of one Bashiru Adeleke.

The teenagers were also accused of stealing a Gas cooker worth N30,000; one small gate worth N10,000; one grounding pepper stand worth N8,000; four iron chairs worth N20,000; two trailer realms valued N60,000 all valued N128, 000 and all properties of one Afolabi Lawrence.

The prosecutor said the defendants stole property worth N428,000 in total.

He further alleged that the teenagers committed the offences contrary to and punishable under section 516, 390(9), of criminal code cap 34 Vol II laws Of Osun state of Nigeria 2002.

The accused persons who did not have any legal representation, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate A. A Adeyeba, thereby remanded the defendants in prison and adjourned the case to Friday, 11th of November, 2021.
