An area court sitting in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State has ordered police to unseal all the 17 local government secretariats in the state.
News Men recalls that the State Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, had in June sealed all the secretariats following the suspension of elected chairmen and councillors by Governor Caleb Mutfuwang.
The commissioner said the secretariats were sealed to prevent a breakdown of law and order by party supporters.
However, Justice H. H. Dolnaan, in his ruling on Monday granted an interim order mandating the CP Bartholomew Onyeka
to direct his men to immediately vacate all the secretariats to allow workers to resume duties.
The court fixed August 7 for the mention and hearing of the motion on notice.
The order followed an ex parte application moved by D. P. Dusu in suit No: ACB/CV/106/2023 instituted by the Plateau State Attorney-General against the CP.
