Court excuses suit preventing Adamu from strutting himself as I-G

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, excused a suit looking for a request controlling Mr Mohammed Adamu from strutting himself as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

Equity Ahmed Mohammed gave the decision following a movement exparte with suit number: FHC/ABJ/CS/106/21 recorded by Maxwell Opara, a legitimate expert, and contended by his attorney, Ugochukwu Ezekiel.

Contending the movement, Ezekiel told the court that the application was carried according to Section 215, 216 of the 1999 Constitution (as revised), Section 7 of the Nigeria Police Act 2020 and arrangement of the court.

Newsmen reports that Opara had sued President Mohammadu Buhari, Mr Mohammed Adamu, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Ministry of Justice as first to fourth litigants separately.

Opara, in the movement dated Feb. 11 and recorded Feb. 12, had supplicated the court for a request controlling Adamu from strutting himself as IGP and a request for abstract of time inside which the respondents ought to react to the application.

Notwithstanding, Justice Mohammed held that since all the litigants had just been presented with the beginning interaction in the suit, it is unjustifiable to concede the exparte movement when the guard had inside 30 days to react to the primary suit.

Mohammed said petition two of the offended party will be a notification to the respondents.

Newsmen sees that however the IGP was addressed by Alex Izinyon, SAN, the first, third and fourth litigants were not addressed in court.

The adjudicator suspended the matter until Feb. 24 for continuation of hearing.
