A Lagos State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Badagry on Thursday ordered that a 28-year-old man, Stanley Amos, be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.

Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya has ordered that Stanley Amos be held at the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre in Badagry after he pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement.

Also, the magistrate directed that the case file be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice, ensuring a thorough review of the matter as it progresses through the legal system.

The court adjourned the case until November 25 to rule on Stanley Amos’ bail application and to consider the advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Earlier, police prosecutor AyodeleAdeosun informed the court that the alleged offence took place on September 22 at approximately 3:00 PM in the Caroline Area of Aradagun, Badagry, Lagos.

Adeosun stated that the offence violates sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which address defilement and related offences.
